Learning Objectives

After completing this continuing education activity you will be able to:

  1. Recognize the background information that informed the project providing patient-centered contraceptive counseling to adolescents in the pediatric ED.
  2. Identify the methodology used for the development and implementation of the project.
  3. Select the results of the evaluation that lend insight to other clinicians in pediatric EDs.

Learning Outcomes

Seventy-five percent of participants will demonstrate knowledge of the development and evaluation of a curriculum for training nurse practitioners (NPs) and physician assistants (PAs) to provide patient-centered contraceptive counseling to adolescents in the pediatric emergency department (ED) by achieving a minimum score of 70% on the outcomes-based posttest.
