  1. Identify issues related to health literacy and patient education.
  2. Compare post-surgical outcomes for total knee arthroplasty (TKA) patients who received patient education that was planned according to their health literacy with outcomes for patients who did not receive this education.

Learning Outcomes

Seventy-five percent of participants will demonstrate knowledge of the effects of education planned according to health literacy level on postoperative outcomes in patients who have undergone total knee replacement by achieving a minimum score of 70% on the outcomes-based posttest.
