Learn how to identify and utilize experimental, observational and descriptive studies.

It is suggested that these CE activities be taken together and in sequence. They can be completed independent of each other depending on your research needs or area of interest.

Purpose of Activity

To develop a comprehensive understanding of the purposes and principles of appraising, extracting and pooling the results of quantitative studies.

Learning Objectives/Outcomes

After completing this continuing education activity you will be able to:

  1. Critically appraise experimental, observational and descriptive studies.
  2. Extract relative numerical and descriptive data from studies.
  3. Combine the results of two or more studies in statistical meta-analysis where possible.
  4. Utilize the JBI-MAStARI software program.
