Description

This activity includes a recording of a journal club that took place live on April 12, 2025 with Nurses Christian Fellowship. Participants can answer the test question(s), complete the evaluation, and obtain the CE certificate here. The discussion is based on the primary article, "The mystery of healing."

Learning Objectives

After completing this continuing education activity you will be able to:

  1. Participants will explore prayer practices and research to better understand how prayer is used by in dealing with illness, and how to pray with and/or for patients.
  2. Participants will process past experiences and disappointment with prayer for desired health outcomes, explore research perspectives on healing prayer, and discover alternative ways of processing prayer outcomes.
  3. Participants will identify biblical Scripture regarding prayer, healing, and the character of God, and increase awareness of ways they can respond to patients/families who inquire about healing prayer.

Learning Outcomes

By the conclusion of the activity, a majority of the participants will demonstrate knowledge of empathic skills that build trust with patients and can improve health outcomes by achieving a passing score on the post-test
