This activity includes a recording of a journal club that took place live on July 25, 2024, with Nurses Christian Fellowship. The discussion based on the primary article, "Prolonged Grief Disorder: Recognition and Provision of Care Along the Bereavement Journey."

Learning Objectives

After completing this continuing education activity you will be able to:

  1. Participants will define normal grief and characteristics of abnormal grief responses and behavior.
  2. Participants will outline assessment skills and tools useful for identifying persons experiencing abnormal grief responses.
  3. Participants will identify support and treatment options for persons experiencing disordered grief.
  4. Participants will recognize how to support grieving individuals through spiritual care that offers hope.

Learning Outcomes

By the conclusion of the activity, a majority of the participants will demonstrate knowledge of strategies for creating a culture that supports mental health by achieving a passing score on the posttest.
