  1. Identify changes in measures of throughput efficiency after implementation of an acuity adaptable model in a progressive care unit for noncritical trauma patients.
  2. Compare resource utilization pre- and post-implementation of an acuity-adaptable model.
  3. Evaluate indicators of nursing quality as a result of the implementation of an acuity-adaptable model.

Learning Outcomes

By the conclusion of this activity, a majority of the participants will demonstrate knowledge of outcomes from the use of a fixed acuity model compared with an acuity-adaptable model for admitted noncritical trauma patients at a Level I trauma center by achieving a passing score on the posttest.
