1. Describe normal respiratory physiology and oxygen supply and demand.
2. Understand the indications for supplemental oxygen and delivery devices.
3. Identify the goals of noninvasive ventilation and available modes.
4. Understand available modes of mechanical ventilation, and care of the mechanically ventilated patient, including appropriate responses to ventilator alarms.
