Learning Objectives

After completing this continuing education activity you will be able to:

  1. Identify key issues and factors related to nurse turnover and the onboarding process for experienced RNs (ERNs) in hospital settings.
  2. Summarize the study's findings regarding the experiences and needs of ERNs in the study hospital setting, including the main factors that influence their transition and integration into the workplace.
  3. Describe recommendations for improving the onboarding process of ERNs in hospital settings, including the roles of nurse managers, clinical preceptors, and nurse professional development practitioners (NPDP).
