  1. Select the appropriate assessment guidelines for evaluating the skin of newborns with varying shades of skin pigmentation.
  2. Identify the skin irregularities common in newborns of color.
  3. Recognize the prevalence of systemic abnormalities in newborns with varying shades of skin pigmentation.

Learning Outcomes

Seventy-five percent of participants will demonstrate knowledge of the differences in the physical assessment of newborns with varying shades of skin pigmentation by achieving a minimum score of 70% on the posttest.
