Learning Objectives

After completing this continuing education activity you will be able to:

  1. Explain mpox prevalence, diagnostic testing, and principal modes of transmission.
  2. Identify personal protective equipment (PPE) and available postexposure prophylaxis vaccines used for mpox disease prevention or symptom abatement.
  3. Describe the available pharmacologic treatment options for mpox.

Learning Outcomes

Seventy-five percent of participants will be able to demonstrate competency in clinical reasoning for primary care of individuals diagnosed with or exposed to mpox (formerly monkeypox) by achieving a posttest score of 70% or greater.
