After completing this continuing education activity you will be able to:

  1. Identify screening recommendations and risk factors for sudden cardiac death in the young (SCDY) as identified in the updated 2021 policy statement by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
  2. Describe recommendations for testing and referrals for patients at risk for SCDY.
  3. Select secondary prevention, treatment, and supportive strategies for patients at risk for SCDY.

Learning Outcomes

Seventy-five percent of participants will be able to demonstrate an increase in knowledge about sudden cardiac death (SCD) in young patients by achieving a posttest score of 70% or greater.
