After completing this continuing education activity you will be able to:

  1. Recognize the importance of informatics competency as it applies to nursing practice and nursing faculty.
  2. Explain the methods utilized in the study and the components of the Self-Assessment of Informatics Competency Scale for Health Professionals (SANICS) to determine nursing faculty competencies.
  3. Identify trends in nursing faculty informatics competency based on the study sample?s responses to the SANICS instrument.

Learning Outcomes

Seventy-five percent of participants will demonstrate knowledge of issues surrounding nursing faculty informatics competencies by achieving a minimum score of 70% on the outcomes-based posttest.
