- Participants will be able to define the terms refugee, immigrant, and asylum-seeker and how these vulnerable populations differ.
- Participants will strengthen their cultural competence and sensitivity by gaining understanding of the traumatic experiences that affect refugees' health and the barriers to healthcare in the host country
- Participants will describe the three C model of care and how to apply the model in a practice setting.
- Participants will recognize the "tightrope of caring" inherent in refugee healthcare that necessitates attention to self awareness/self-care.
