After completing this continuing education activity you will be able to:

  1. Identify the background information the authors considered when planning and implementing their study of the effect of the use of checklists on NGNs' adherence to unit protocols.
  2. Select the elements of the two checklists used to study their effect on NGNs' adherence to unit protocols.

Learning Outcomes

Seventy-five percent of participants will demonstrate knowledge of a study assessing whether the use of two checklists demonstrated an increase in new graduate nurses' (NGNs) perceived ability to practice consistently to the unit's standards of care by achieving a minimum score of 70% on the outcomes-based posttest.
