To provide information on current recommendations on vaccinating pregnant women for prevention of pertussis and influenza infections.

Learning Objectives/Outcomes

After completing this continuing education activity you will be able to:

  1. Identify stages of pertussis infection symptom progression and prevention strategies including recommendations on pertussis vaccination during pregnancy.
  2. Summarize vaccination recommendations for influenza prevention for women during pregnancy.
  3. Describe prenatal patient education information on pertussis and influenza vaccines, and study findings on pregnancy vaccination rates for pregnant women in regard to racial background and vaccine funding sources.
