Purpose of Activity

To present evidence-based interventions for the nonsurgical treatment of hip and knee osteoarthritis from the guidelines of the Osteoarthritis Research Society International, the American College of Rheumatology, and the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Learning Objectives

After completing this continuing education activity you will be able to:

  1. Outline the pathophysiology of osteoarthritis as well as the methods of determining the strength of the existing evidence related to osteoarthritis.
  2. Summarize the guidelines the Osteoarthritis Research Society International, the American College of Rheumatology, and the American Association of Orthopedic Surgeons have established for the management of knee and hip osteoarthritis.
