Learning Objectives

  2. Evaluate the use of case vignettes and an observational tool as an educational measure of standard precaution knowledge and recognition.
  3. Specify the role infusion nurses can play in antibiotic stewardship program (ASP) development.
  4. Identify processes and outcomes from practices to allow longer functional dwell time of short peripheral catheters (SPCs).
  5. Identify the effectiveness of local anesthetics and factors influencing nurses? use of these anesthetics for intravenous (IV) cannulation and arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling.
