Learning Objectives

After completing this continuing education activity you will be able to:

  1. Recognize the impact of dementia on health care systems and on the health and well-being of patients and families.
  2. Summarize information about the study design used to implement and evaluate the authors' QI project.
  3. Describe the influence of the author's QI project on the delivery of dementia-related resources and referrals in hospitalized patients with dementia.

Learning Outcomes

Seventy-five percent of participants will be able to demonstrate knowledge of an acute care setting quality improvement (QI) project to improve the volume of dementia-specific referrals, achieving posttest score of 70% or greater.
