Learning Objectives

After completing this continuing education activity you will be able to:

  1. Identify U.S. suicide prevalence, financial cost, and impact on population health.
  2. Describe the Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) model used for training behavioral health managed care organization staff on suicide-related knowledge and prevention strategies in the authors' study.
  3. Summarize the QPR gatekeeper training program outcomes for the authors' study participants with respect to knowledge, identification, and response to suicide risk.

Learning Outcomes

Seventy-five percent of participants will be able to demonstrate knowledge of an evaluation of training for staff of a behavioral health managed care organization to gain skills to identify and respond to suicide risk by achieving a posttest score of 70% or greater.
